Disclaimer: This session was shot in a train museum.
Leave it to me to take it up to the edge. I’ll admit, photographing on train tracks is something I have done in the past many years ago but, never with clients. While I love so many of the images I created, it admittedly wasn’t the smartest thing I have ever done. Trains are amazing and offer a certain moodiness to the tone and texture of your photographs. I totally get it.
Ignorance is bliss in one moment and in another cost a life; it is important to educate our friends and clients that shooting on live and/or dead tracks has proven deadly. Some rules are to be broken, others not. This Union Pacific PSA is a step in the right direction. I am a huge advocate and this information is important to share.
Old trains are the best. If you are going to shoot around trains and tracks be sure and find a train museum near you.
I have shot this family at least 5 times now and I love watching them grow. The little guy is more determined and faster at two and big brother, had open heart surgery a few days later. I am happy to report that he is recovering beautifully and will be feeling better very soon. Alex loved it so much he was up for riding the rails all the live long day and can’t wait to go back.
Friendly reminder: Train museum.
If you are in Southern California, love trains and want to have a good time doing the train/photo thing safely and legally….I know a place. Contact Us for details on booking your session.
For Fun: 30+ Comments here on the blog and I will throw in some extras for the family. Say hi! Share if you feel like it. We all love to hear from you.
