Sedona had been on my mind for a few days before I spontaneously packed my backpack and drove off with Stewart, the foster dog, late Saturday afternoon. My plan was to head on over to New Mexico on up to Colorado but Sedona drew me in and held on tight. I have a line up of pretty cool images to share, but for now I wanted to get these up for my peeps. I had zero intentions of shooting family sessions but 2 presented themselves rather quickly after posting a photo on social media. It just.so.happened they were going to be in town at the same time. Nice. I LOVE traveling for sessions. More please.
It was quite serendipitous and visually stunning, so I decided to stay another day or so to catch up with them. We met early in the morning to beat some of the heat. The goal was to get it done before the elements took over and heat aside, this landscape came with some challenges. The strong unforgiving contrast of light and shadows along with the bounce off the Mars like terrain proved to be a fun little challenge.
Bell Rock | Sedona.
One of the 4 major Sedona vortexes where the energy of the earth offers up all three of the healing energies of feminine, masculine and balance.
I knew this place would be right up their alley. Vortex? What? They are actually all over our everyday lives…. the water going down the bathtub drain, the Milky Way Galaxy, tornadoes, hurricanes…… and Sedona. Where the vortexes in Sedona are said to be the strongest the juniper trees grow in a twist. Cool. I find this kind of thing fascinating and there is no doubt that Sedona is a magical mystical place. You can read more about Sedona vortexes here.
Enough out of me. This family is rad and I totally dig them.
Leave this family some love in the comments and if you enjoy my work please feel free to share. Also, if you are interested in a Fall 2015 session contact me ASAP as dates are filling up.
After we finished up at Bell rock I was invited to tag along on a 4×4 adventure to some beautiful ruins. Moon worshipers it appears. Sun?
After the ruins we made our way up Shcnebly Hill to the Merry go round overlook to finish off the day. It was awesome and highly recommend all that
