Frequently Asked Questions

Portrait Sessions

How long have you been in business?
Since 2007. This has been my full time profession since July 2008.

When should I book my session?

You should book your session as soon as you decide that you would like my services.

Session fees are due, in full, at the time of booking, are non-refundable, and required to hold your date.

I work strictly on a first come first-served basis; take a limited amount of sessions per month, to ensure quality.

Do you offer Digital files

Yes. Please contact us for pricing.

When do I get to see my photos?

If my schedule allows, I’ll post a few in The Journal a few days after your session. Your gallery will go live in approximately 10 days from the date of our session. Prints and products are fully finished and delivered once your invoice has been paid in full.

How will I get my images?

All digital files will be delivered, via download link, from your proofing gallery. After your digital collection has been purchased, finished, and delivered, a Print Shop, with your chosen photos will be activated. Any purchases made will be drop shipped, via my professional print vendor, to the shipping address provided by you.

Can I see ALL of the photos that you took at my session?
No. Part of the service I provide is my artistic discretion. Showing too many files is overwhelming for anyone and I reserve the right to show what I feel reflects everyone, including myself as an artist, in their best light. Images not shown are not as strong in emotion, composition, lighting, exposure. There is often a lot blinking or repetition…you get the idea.

*The only way to obtain every shot taken is through a full buyout. Those are typically conducted in the realm of commercial licensing, and comes with a much more significant price tag.

What if I don’t like my photos?

I am my own worst critic, and if you find yourself in a position where you just aren’t happy with what I have produced, chances are I am not either. I appreciate open communication and want my clients to be nothing short of thrilled. If I feel the images are not up to par with what is shown in my galleries I will happily re-shoot at my discretion. I also understand that sometimes kids just have a terrible, no good day. Re shoots will not be given based on regretful clothing, hair, makeup choices or late arrival.

Do you have a studio?
The world is my studio. I work exclusively on location with available light.

Do you travel for sessions?
Yes. I love to travel! Please note that travel fare and lodging is added to the cost of your session. If you live in another state and can rally a few other families to book together over the course of a few days that travel/accommodation fees be spread out among you.

When is the best time for a maternity session?

About 30-32 weeks when you have a nice sized belly and are still comfortable and able to move about somewhat freely.

When is the best time for a newborn session?

Within the first 5-10 days after birth. Babies are still in the recovery stage, less prone to being startled when being moved, and likely have not developed baby acne at that point.

Sessions can be conducted after this time frame, but the chances of curly, sleepy tiny baby poses are more unpredictable after 10 days. Lifestyle sessions allow for a little more flexibility. If your baby is over 10 days, it's quite alright.

Family events?
Yes. I quite enjoy it.  Please inquire via the contact form for a quote.

Weddings?
Not as often as I used to, but let’s talk if you are having a smaller more intimate wedding or elopement. I like to quote based on your special set of circumstances.
