Philosophy

  • The size and shape of your body is the least interesting thing about you.

  • "Normal" is a construct of our society and, it turns out, normal is really kinda boring. Drop the mask. It’s more than ok.

  • Neurodiverse friendly. I stand firmly in the the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one "right" way of being, thinking, learning, behaving, and differences are not viewed as deficits…as long as you do not intentionally hurt others.

  • Trauma informed. Consent regarding both touch and the execution of ideas are an important part of working in a vulnerable safe space. We are working together and in within the comfort zone of each individual.

  • I am child free. I totally show up with Auntie/Camp Counselor/Sister/Friend energy. It’s super fun.

  • Photographs are a time machine. There is a distinct difference between photos captured for posterity and energetic portraits. The latter is direct transport to that place in which you can hear laughter and voices. I am here for people that want to be seen.

  • The creation of energetic artwork can not be controlled. I am not interested in recreating someone else’s photographic style.

  • The world is filled with too many beautiful colors to dull and mute them. My editing techniques are not based on trends but rather on timelessness.

  • I’m a fraction of the equation and lead with intuition, to bring out the very best each individual. This tends to be a playful process.

  • As a photojournalist, I strive to be an impartial observer at all times, in every situation.

  • When I say, come as you are, I mean it. Being in front of my camera is a no judgement zone.
