I get to see this sweet family every 3 years. I love it.
Witnessing these girls growing up feels a lot like growing up with their mama. Especially now that the girls are in the age range of us up playing soccer together. We went through Jr. High and High School together and Mama was the recipient of many a throw-ins of mine.
While our hometown was midsized among the greater population of Orange County, we lived a small town life in many respects. We remember Orange County when it still had open space with citrus wrapping you up like the lilacs do in the north. Our parents sat on the sidelines together, enduring the 80s smog with great dedication, and thankfully did not scream at us to pass the ball.
